All those things you know you ought to be doing, plan to do, hope to do, when you get around to it; when life isn’t so busy…this not only goes for cleaning the attic and the garage but in our Christian walk as well…Read more.
(Our little post it notes)
Life always seems so busy,
so much to be done,
no time for what I’d like to do,
not much time for fun;
I’ve got all these little notes
stuck up here and there,
reminder’s what I need to do
but seems I’m still not getting anywhere
for all those stick-up yellow post its,
on my frig, computer screen,
on the bathroom mirror
and places in-between,
all those little reminders
that keep me busy from sun to sun.
I take some down and add a few
but someday I’ll get it done.
I really will get around to it
just as soon as I find time.
It seems I’ve stretched me way to thin
with all these plans, hopes, dreams of mine;
but someday I’ll get around to it
when more time I’ve got
And that’s how it is with some of us
even in our Christian walk;
we know the things we ought to do
and we can talk the talk
with all those things we intend to do
and more often do not.
It seems we let life’s little things
somehow get in our way;
seems only when those troubles come
do we take time to pray,
take precious time to talk with God,
to thank him for our day
and all the many blessing
that he sends our way;
those things we take for granted,
like water, shelter, air,
our freedoms, and our rights,
we wouldn’t have if God wasn’t there;
our health, our strength, our courage,
our needs; God sees to it
and we’ll find the time to thank him
when we get around to it…
And we’ll spend more time with Jesus
as soon as the chores are done,
go to church more often,
when we find the right one.
We’ll dust off the Bible
once the football season is through…
Oh I wonder, wonder what would happen
if God had that attitude?
God should come first and last with each of us
in our every single day.
Life sure goes much smoother
when we follow in his way,
when we give our day to Jesus,
look to him with faith and hope
and we don’t make our Christianity
just another post it note.
