GETTING STRONGER IN THE FAITH

My faith in God started from the day I talked to God, I started looking for a church.  Then, I confessed Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.  Followed my baptism with the Holy Spirit which led me to preach the Gospel on the street by giving tracts about how Jesus can save us from our sins, by accepting him in our heart through a simple prayer and by doing the baptism of water of repentance.

I prayed every evening and weekends and saw amazing things happening in my life like prayers being answered, I got healed a few times and got this special relationship with my dad which I hated from being so harsh with me as a child.

I met a lot of Christian friends who encouraged me in my faith.  I fasted in order to see breakthroughs to get more of the Holy Spirit in my life.  That is when God gave me the amazing gift of speaking in tongues. 

Today, I found it very hard to be so much on fire with God again, so many temptations and distractions in my life.  However God has led me to read the bible again.  I’ve already read it twice from cover to cover.  The isrealites show how God wants to be The Lord of our life and how to he deals with the disobedience of Israel with a loving and forgiving heart attitude.  He is patient in not destroying them at once for not following his ways.

I would say that it is easier once you become a Christian but as the years pass, the challenge is hard as the devil will do anything to keep us busy and disappointed to lose our faith in God.

I try to read Christians books from other Christians to bring me back to God in order to deal with certain issues like anger and unforgiveness.
