Let us be alerted to the cry of Nature before we continue to turn our backs on her. The manifestations of unpleasant signs are already within the purview of our knowledge. It may not be too late before we get confronted with the adverse consequences of global warming.

The gloom of day

May not go away,

With the sun’s presence soon,

Nor the dark of night

Witness the light

Of the rising moon.

Joys of spring,

With birds on the wing,

May yet have reason

For its ecstasy sweet

To quickly greet

A premature season.

The melting frost

May yet be tossed

Into oceans galore,

Swelling and rising

To levels surprising,

Shore to shore.

Let it simply be said,

As we forge ahead

To do what we must,

Nor get far behind

With body and mind

And lose our trust

In Nature that is

Our anchor and bliss

To keep us alive

And shrink from the lure

Of debasing the pure,

So that we survive.

As life goes on

And we stumble upon

Adventures new

Let us not forget

That we may regret

If we fail to eschew

To do what we must,

And repose our trust

In Nature that we

Not lag far behind

With body and mind,

For us to be free.
