Go Into Thine Inner Chamber

“And hope maketh not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” Romans 5:5

Go into thine inner chamber,

And before Him humbly bow.

Tell Him He knows thy sad condition.

But your coming to Him now!

Trust Him with a childlike trusting.

He’ll have mercy there on thee.

Then you’ll be in right relation,

This great fellowship to see!

Christ in tender love is looking,

Down where all is dark and cold.

Only believe that He is ready,

To help thy prayer life be so bold!

“Only believe that I am ready,

To shed my love within thine heart,

That, though conscious of thy weakness,

In strong prayer may have a part!

I have cleansed thee from thy sins.

Not in thy strength the victory.

Only let thy soul have patience;

Doubting nothing, come to me!
