Poem.
Beauty was all there was, the ‘realistic’ beauty of time;
Man being enticed by the beauty of nature, the
Beauty of the fairer sex! Until, they stumbled across,
The beauty of the Almighty dollar –
Heart of the sugar-coated reality.
I sat on the brim of the scattered rocks, looking down upon,
Wondering where I went wrong – Was the divine act of creation wrong?
Wrong? Can the alluring objects be an aberration?
It was I who created the binary opposites!
The frowned upon concept of good and bad! Wondering –
What is good?
What is bad?
The deprecated question surfaces yet again!
I, God, rose up, deciding to end the world today,
Once and for all, end the countless miseries of time.
I raised my hand, to commit the ‘holy’ act, to do the ‘good’ deed;
My steps faltered, I failed! A new blot visible on my tainted account…
Lamenting on my failure, I wondered –
How are men as brave as to kill one another?
That too without any backward glance!
While I, their creator, staggered my ways into episodes of failure…
I dithered back to my abode, the night approaching rapidly;
It was time to affiliate into the other form of life,
The darker side!
The time when humans and I, were one, and the same,
Difference being – Humans remained static,
While I changed within, beyond the phase of time,
After all, light is only visible when complemented by darkness!
