Man has become vain and proud with all his inventions. Technology has become the new God of the world. It can not replace our Creator’s blessed gifts that we push aside to, “do it our way.”

Technology is a great advancement
in a world so starved for contentment
all to often it misses it’s mark
and we still stand in the dark
our desire to compete and get ahead
often backfires instead
because too often we fail to see
that machines are a false sense
of security
a robot can not love or hug a child
a computer can not return a smile
material wealth has not cured poverty
too many machines create insensitivity
self-interest has become a desire
to earn money to be a consumer buyer
the desire to aquire wisdom and compassion
is lost in the struggle to be in fashion
stress and violence is the price we pay
in a world so gone astray
those  too selfish to see or care
cause heartache and misery everywhere
the priorities they choose include war
with no mercy they starve the poor
the Bible was written to pave the way
with what God had to say
he tells us how to share and give
he gives us commandments on how to live
how sad that mankind forgets to see
how often he causes his own tragedy
by ignoring the rules that God has made
and putting aside the foundations laid
the self-centered attitude of those who rule
is based on the greed they drool
technology will not save their soul
when the desires of their heart unfold
God sent his only beloved son to die
to teach us all the reasons why
we need to take the time
to search our hearts so we can find
the answers in our soul deep inside
that tell us why Jesus died
without God”s love man would not have
the ability
to progress in the field of technology
to God we owe our All and All
lest from grace we slip and fall
technology can never give us eternity
only God has that Davine ability

You captured the atmosphere my friend. We are here in soul searching and the more we discover the more we forgot ourselves. Wonderful poem.

You could have done with a few full stops in there, otherwise a very good poem.

Yes, we owe everything to God, though at times we forget. Great poem
