The Volcano.
In memory of Ileana Lucia Adolfo Aseoche.
Pulsing, throbbing endless flow,
Thralling one in breathless awe;
Golden serpent, gleaming grandeur
Twisting, bristling, writhing splendor
Weaving, heaving molten river,
Onward, downward red-hot fervor.
Gurgling, gargling might ogre,
Boiling, toiling, roiling over.
Rumbling, tumbling, searing “glower” –
Where, pray tell, do you rush so?
(When & what will stem your flow?)
Gushing, crushing, rushing ever
Onward, forward to’rd Never?
“a devouring fire”
