Road to nowhere…

Wandering down this road

All by yourself

Smiling, laughing

Proud of yourself

Running, hurrying along

Blundering your way

Never needed a plan

Always leaping before you look

Never reading the signs

Knowing everything

Yet, knowing nothing

Unaware of your surroundings

Paying no attention

To a lonely road

Huffing and puffing

Your way along

Running out of steam

Your diehard of a battery

Just fizzled and died

Leaving you to yourself

Going the wrong way

on a nowhere road

Oh, that describes so many of us exactly, much as we hate to admit it. Well done.

Love it. We have a road to nowhere here in NZ, and Samuel Butler wrote books called Erewhon and Erewhon revisited based on his experiences here. Note the almost reverse spelling!

Brilliant poem with a very strong message, that was good enough, but then to find this picture to go with it was inspiring.

Wow. What kind of road is this in the picture. Maybe it’s going to hell? Thanks so much for your time.
