A little poem I wrote for my grandparents’ golden anniversary.
On Your Golden Anniversary
Fifty years ago, on a cold day in November,
It was a special day that you will always remember.
You vowed your love for each other,
That there would never be another.
To split you apart,
Or to break your heart.
And then all of a sudden, three children were there,
And whatever they did, you still did care.
As those kids got older,
Your love stood like a boulder.
Even with all of the stress,
Your life was never a mess.
And now all these years later,
Through thick and through thin,
Your lives have never been greater,
For our love you did win.
Fifty years is quite an accomplishment,
But all those years, you have lived with content.
