A dark poem dedicated to the lovely Caroline.
Good Luck
It took some time before we caught up to one another
Don’t call me what you need, what you desire, I’m no lover
Never thought you would catch up to me, but your past is the same
You may grow up and advance onward, your demons still remain
We stand, eyeing down each other, sizing up the opportunity to strike
To think that once we could feel, body and soul, do as you like
I see the evil in your eyes, the place where the darkness hides at dawn
Waiting for the inevitable to take you through, life is not so long
Lie back and dream of death, go to sleep and rest your head
Were not both the victims of life, are we not both the living dead
Play to me as the avenging angel; drive your dagger into my heart
No longer can we forget the times of our youth, no chance to part
We both sold that which is most dear and we have paid before the toll of the bell
Together we descend into the flaming pit, we are nine, the disciples of hell
When we are buried, will we find release, will god bless the dirt on our grave, the earth
Smile smugly now as you consider all that in your mind and good luck, my dear, on rebirth
