A song I wrote about different times in my life and relating them to the songs and movies that I had listened to or seen during those times.
Don’t you ever miss the good ole days
When we lived life by the times
and all the songs we used to sing
we were unafraid to be alive
singing famous last words
always scared to say goodbye
I remember good morning planetarium
Blasting through my speaker system
Burning rubber on summer nights of fun,
The wind blowing cars around the bend,
I remember singing teenagers
Skating with all my newfound friends,
There were always random black kids,
And fun times never seem to end.
Didn’t you love hearing you’re not alone
While skating on new zero boards,
Everyone had those back then,
And all I ever wanted was another cigar
It always made me feel so Zen,
And I remember hearing three little birds
Singing don’t worry about a thing,
All I needed was my new found friends.
And I remember Bob Marley’s trend,
You said singing hands down
We stayed up all night and drank Big Reds,
And when I was singing missed the boat
While on my way to drivers Ed
The girls all loved my Norma jean shirt,
We all hated that one kid Josh and so,
We walked to Tom Thumb to be fed.
And I could see all there was to see
When we watched I Am legend,
You went out of your way to sit by me,
And we always skated Sunday nights,
And I was rapping Bleed It Out
When we left all the boring friends,
And enjoyed the natures winter sights
The first time I ever stayed at your house.
Where have all the good days gone,
I guess they had to end sometime.
Now I hear the same good old songs
We always gave away so much time
Singing them to feel alive…
