Poem dedicated to a very courageous, and loving daughter….

Goodbye Dad,
I know you don’t like goodbye’s,
goodbye’s always makes you sad,
makes your heart cry instead of your eyes…..
We all came to say goodbye,
its been a heart wrenching time,
now its our time to cry,
to say our final goodbye…..
Dad your finally been released,
its goodbye to all your sufferings,
your heart has stopped murmuring,
now you can rest in peace…..
Mum and my daughter are here,
we all love you so dear,
it hurt us to see you die,
and its painful to say goodbye…..
The family and friends will come,
your old drinking mates too,
mum use to say they’re all bums,
but you love them so true…..
They all come to say goodbye,
to their favourite southern man,
show their respect as you lie,
and come and shake our hands…..
Oh my Dad why,
why did you have to die,
I’m missing you already,
I don’t want to say goodbye…..
You were a good Dad to me,
had some failings and shortcomings,
but with you I was always happy,
never thought I’d ever be mourning…..
Read from the bible the other day,
when a nice lady called at the door,
it said soon death will be done away,
and goodbye’s will be no more…..
I like the thought of no more goodbye’s,
the lady said it’s true God is not lying,
no more goodbye’s and crying,
no more suffering or any dying…..
Anyway dad we gave it our all,
didn’t we have a ball,
we got you up and walking,
even a smiling and talking…..
Got you doing your sums too,
even if twenty two minus four equals two,
your still top of my class Dad,
in your seventies sick its not too bad…..
We did your final curtain call together,
hey you forgot to do the encore,
never mind you can do it later,
when you hear that greater call…..
I’ll never forget your last hello dad,
how with joy my heart did cry,
one day soon we’ll never be sad,
then there will be no more goodbye…………..end….?????……..
