This morning I got the news.

That you had passed in the night.

The first thing that i thought  of,

Will mom be alright?

It really hasn’t hit me

,the fact that you are gone.

Through thick and thin you’ve been there.

Yet now that time is done.

I pray that you have found the peace,

That life could no longer bring.

An end to all your pain filled nights ,

and days of suffering.

I hope that God has held you close ,

and eased your troubled heart.

When you look down from that place on high,

Know this Dad, we will never be apart.

You are a part of me ,

and you flow in the veins of my sons.

The life that you lived may be over,

yet your legacy shall never be done.

My condolences, dearest friend. Personally I’ve never suffered any loved one’s death, but I must imagine how devastating it could be. Praises to your poem, I am sure your father’s proud.

I can relate. It\’s… not easy. Having seen a father figure of head family dying in his bedroom (I was only 13 years old), and attended the wake and the funeral of best friend whom I have known whole my life (I was 20 at the time), my cold-harden heart prevails. Both gradually hit me the hardest.

I give you a manly hug. Good luck with the process, and I am confident that you will make it through.

Fatherly deaths seem to be a curse in my family. And I made it thus so far. So can you.

Frank, so sorry, he’s upstairs now, and he’s alright, watching his grandsons grow up, know he is at peace.

FJ, I was crying while reading this. My father passed away 3 years ago at exactly the same time, 1230 am. I was the only child out of 5 at his deathbed but i consider it a privilege to have been by his side. It was the first major death in the family…You never really get over the loss of a loved one. My written tributes to him here show I still hold on to his lovely memory wherever he is.
You can help him be at peace by believing he really is. God bless.
