This Poem is about being tired of never being able to get out of a place that offers nothing accept the lowest station in life; So, in hope of a better life…The person must take a chance decision, to change life… to their desired satisfaction.

I wanna leave this place

not to start over,

but to start anew ~

I wanna leave this place

So, far behind,

 for too long

I’ve been too far behind

Maybe tomorrow

or next week

or in a few short months

I’ll begin to hunt

for a life

to place me

in the forefront

of this thing

I desire to call… My Past.

Maybe I’ll go North to Alaska

to catch a big fish

or pan for gold

it’s better than going

to Nebraska to plant someones maze.

I need to go somewhere,

where there are better days.

Maybe I’ll go to The Big Apple

or to Hollywood

to become A famous Poet

or maybe even a Star…

If only that thought

could really take me that far;

I’d surely be further than where I are!

Maybe, I’ll go to Dakota

where So many are flocking;

maybe then, I’ll be able to

put a little something

more tangible in my empty stocking.

I know one thing for sure

if I stay here

life will be the same

and the same will be as it were.

Anywhere must be better than HERE

all I now need to do

to get from here to there

wherever it may be

is to do what I must do

“JUST UP AND MOVE!”

Nice! This goes right along with the title of your book – “Every Road Leads Somewhere”.
