Soul food.

Beside the grapevine

Grandma preserve her garden

Tomato’s, potatoes and cabbage

Outburst within the garden

She would pick them all

For the families watered mouths

Sweet smell of greens

Stirred with sizzling ham hocks

Sprinkles of hot peppers

Waiting for the mac & cheese

Juices drowns the turkey

The smell obsesses me

Beside the grapevine

The smell runs forever

Grandma’s soul food

Bring family and friends together
