I wrote this poem about my grandfather, of how he taught me so much, and gave me gifts I never realized were really gifts, he is a great man, and will forever be remembered. <3.
He’s a role model,
to most and many.
He’s a hero,
born proud and strong.
Through the years he’s been,
Built up like an icon,
in a little girls eyes,
A secret treasure.
He was given a gift.
He was a promise of hope.
He taught her of horses,
Such beautiful creatures.
The galloping free,
Triumphant and gallant.
Whisper soft words,
with their ears, they’ll hear it.
He would open his heart
to a world that scared the rest.
Wide open spaces,
and speed as fast as flight.
They run with such,
beauty and grace.
The wind through their mane,
and their head held high.
With bodies of soul,
Eyes vast like oceans.
He trusted them more,
Than he ever trusted a human.
Horses were truthful,
Though they could not speak.
But the sound in their hearts,
He could hear so loud.
So she finally understood,
the day he went away,
That horses held a secret treasure
where he could always be found.
