A Poem on Love!

The peripherals lie about the things inside,

The winter sets in, in more ways than one.

The gloom, over those which once bloomed,

Bloomed at the sight of me.

The sighs replace, what was once commonplace,

The child, the smiles, you’ve aged an age.

And you so cleverly shatter your mask before me,

So uncharacteristic, you’re playing a game.

Overwhelming the thus far blasé,

The changes are here to last.

So different from the past they are,

Am I still I?

Time to adjust, things are moving so fast,

It’s not an excuse, but that’s all I asked.

It’s true an explanation is owed.

Won’t you come to collect?

And if things are fucked up now,

And it’s all because of me.

What hope, tell me, should I have

For what fucked up so easy?

Feeling so intense, it numbs you sometimes.

Time’s still irrational, ticking away,

Hearts keep beating, beating, beating

But suddenly minds lead them astray.

The pause before the plunge,

The doubt before the dive,

Caught me by surprise and

Sent me awhirl for a while.

But my mind’s made up now,

I just needed my time.

Won’t you hold my hand

While I let myself fall?
