Comparing romeo to Odysseus

Romeo The lead male in the play Romeo and Juliet and Odysseus The main character in the poem The Odyssey, are quite alike in that they both have marriage related problems and must fight for their love. They both are Forced to leave their home towns And both of their wives try to solve their problems by being deceitful.

Romeo is a young man who gets caught in the crossfire of his family’s feud. he Falls in love with the daughter of his families enemy, Juliet. They Have a Secret Marriage. Juliet’s cousin Tybalt Kills Romeo’s friend and romeo then kills Tybalt out of vengeance. Romeo is then exiled from his home, Verona. Juliet, then promised to another kills fakes her own suicide to try and duck out of another marriage.

Odysseus, Master of land ways and sea ways is a great fighter and a brilliant strategist. He was pulled away his home and newborn son to fight a war. Before he left he made his wife promise that if his son had a beard on his face before he returned she would take another as his husband. When the war is over Odysseus has troubles getting back home. His Journey home take him 30 years and his wife is now threatened by suitors She says she will marry when she finishes weaving a shroud for Odysseus’s father. she weaves all day and un-weaves all night. this trick worked for a period of time until she was caught. Odysseus then returns to his home and tells all the suitors to leave none of the suitors believe he is Odysseus and he is forced to fight for his life. he kills all the suitors.
