A wonder I beheld on the ocean one day – beautiful!
GREEN ISLES
Islands of green appeared to me,
Set like jewels out on the sea,
They had not, no, been there before,
But they did linger off the shore,
Slowly, as I in awe watched them,
They undulated and went to swim,
Em’rald isles I’d never seen,
Were algae islands that had been,
Covered with the high ocean tide,
Not exposed, but to merely hide,
The water ebbed, the algae rose,
My eyes did see – the wonder goes,
Beautiful green on sea of blue,
Like em’ralds swimming in the dew,
As a slow mist they went away,
Please come again and this time stay.
