See? There really is a reason why I can’t keep house!

Gremlins live in the corners;
And they play when I am out.
They invade the cat boxes
To fling the poo about.

They burrow underneath the chairs
Where the dust bunnies sleep all day
And chase them out into the room
Where they are all on display.

They put wrinkles in the rug,
scramble up the curtains
To give the blinds and uneven tug
so they hang in disarray.

They tease the cotton from the puppy toys
Tear the caning from the chairs
Pull tufts of fur from the kitties
To sprinkle up and down the stairs.

When I come home my house is such a mess
I hardly know what I’m about;
But the little things are so darned cute
I can’t bear to throw them out!
