What is going on with our world? we see all the decay but what can we do?

On our tummies we silently, shuffle and crawl

Rocks and stones lay at the bottom as landfall

Shuffle and crawl right to the edge of the cliff

Grazes and hints of blood speckle our midriff

Below us the rough sea breathes in and back out

Our foreheads shielding our eyes as we scout

Around the costal land we dare to peak and look

Writing all down in our red and silver note book

The sides progressively battered and destroyed

Bits of rock still clinging on like an angry sarcoid

No place left for the flitting sea birds to nest

Now they must all perch three or four abreast

As the sea gets larger and much further in-land

With great velocity its hands reach for the mainland

With the Polar caps melting where will all this end?

Do we just wait around for something to transcend

We all sit in shame, our heads buried in our hands

Do we just listen for the Ozone’s furtive demands?

There is always a way to set things right; it all falls to whether we are trying our best to prevent whatever may come from our actions… like an epic tsunami swallowing continents to their graves. Too much 2012.
Anyway, a great write, and yeah, I learned a new word too! Sarcoid… tumour, right? :)

Good poem…good choice of words. Singly we may not be much, but together we can.

well, Hollywood is making movies about it…

Kidding:) We are trying to be better and more consconcious but I am not sure if it’s working.

Great writing. And the picture does look ominious yet pretty.

I’ve noticed that you have a very unique flow to your work that I haven’t seen before around here. Is this just your style or does it have a name. Anyway, very important topic. I do not buy into many brands of the global warming hoopla, for example, Al Gore. What I do believe that we should all do our part to waste not. Use what you need when you need it. It is all about moderation and treating the earth just as you would your body.

Topical verse. I bet you voted for the Green Party last Thursday.

Personally I think all the paranoia about global warming is just that—paranoia. It’s proved that with time, the earth goes through hot and cold cycles. You know historians have discovered that in Roman Britain, the Romans were able to grow grapes along parts of Hadrian’s wall—proving it was a lot hotter back then than it is now.

Individual actions can have some benefit, however a lot of damage to the environment is being caused through policies implemented in nations and companies, by people who plan to take what financial benefit they can, without caring about the rest.

    This is commendable!
