In life we make decisions that we later on regret

We make excuses for our actions and we hope we can forget

But as the years pass by with ease situations come to light

That bring us back the memories and our conscience starts to bite

How cold and callous actions can reach deep in to our soul

And rip the light of love away with no comfort to behold

A cut that scars so deeply in our hearts will never heal

No words can take away the pain that deep inside we feel

The days and nights of torment as we justify our act

Are what we think that we deserve to reconcile the fact

Self destruction seems to be the only way to go

And in our minds we plan the deed to repent our evil blow

Hurt that never goes away no matter what we do

Reminds us to be cautious so the guilt won’t make us blue

If after all this stress and strain we come out on the side

We may find that we need some help to express the hurt we hide

This help will come in different ways of this we can be sure

We never know what answers lie behind unopened doors

So if we can be brave and strong to open the door we see

The love and understanding there can set our heartache free

If we’re left alone with anger it will rot away our soul
