It’s interesting how history paints certain historical figures as conquerors while others are just ruthless barbarians. I guess it’s true…One man’s Hero is another man’s avaricious Loser!
Achilles and Hercules, Alexander and Cheng,
What makes them so legendary, considered great men,
Blood drenched, vague histories, tales spun by the pen,
And what of those poor fellas, whose lives senselessly spent,
Their fault purely a result of being of a different race,
Who gave Ginghis the right to, burn books by the case,
And horde the rest into rivers, while they attacked in haste,
Napoleon, on the other hand, gave tyranny another new face,
Why is it that history glorifies so much,
Those who persecuted whatever they touched,
Why is it that their massacres, are to Hitler’s only a smudge,
For to this world Adolph has been, the only monster who has crushed,
Do they truly deserve all these great stories, and hence be showered with glory,
When in truth, in spite of those nays, they’ve destroyed all that was holly,
All those lost human souls, friends and foe, just to keep the crowds jolly…
