Impossible relationships…

Our passion is like a reflecting hallway of mirrors

One we would like to walk into, one of many endeavors

But the infinite pathway we can see is not really there

The way is present but the trip is impossible to bear…

***

Our friendship is like the mysterious hallway of mirrors

It shows a perfect symmetry, not any room for errors

Yet the point of  destination is an unreachable one

Really tempting the mind and heart to ask “Why can’t it be done?”…

***

Our obsession is like the shrinking hallway of mirrors

Yielding as the ribbons made to cut by a pair of scissors

Yet it will adjust it’s angles when one reflector is moved

Shows the same flexibility, all aligning  to improve…

***

Our love is like the brittle and fragile hallway of mirrors

Afterall, all affairs are not without it’s pending terrors

And just as we are about to decide nothing else mattered

A small pebble of mistrust dropped and the illussion shattered…

Lovely use of imagery and the reiteration of ‘hallway of mirrors’ made this a powerful and beautiful poem, quite haunting too.

Relationships are like mirrors. They should be pampered and handled with care. Great choice of words. Love it!

Hi rf. Remember me? I went missing for a while but I’m finding my way home. I’m trying to catch up on some of my friends posts before I get too busy writing, and of course, you were at the top of my list of must reads. I’ve got to say, you didn’t disappoint me.

This is an incredible poem. I’ve missed your writing.

Well written poem. Love is a matter of trust indeed, without which everything would turn out purely material.

Beautiful poem friend. I liked how you referred friendships and relationships with reflective mirrors, and how delicate they both are in reference to each other. Seems like we travel the same path over and over during our lifetimes, and what we learn from each path makes us who we are. Lovers or Losers!!!!!!!! Well done friend.

I think there are certain things in life which we have to think if we could work on… The message of this poem is so mind-bugging that tempts me to read it over and over again.. I like it…
