Happenstance – something that happens by chance

Serendipity – making fortunate discoveries by accident

Some of the best things in life happen without our planning for them.

A chance encounter out of the blue

I don’t think I was looking, but spotted you

Lingering on my life’s periphery

As if planted there to catch my eye

I had to pause and wonder why

Since serendipity is so rare for me

Your smile drew me in at first glance

Genuine, friendly, loving and warm

Your eyes and lips in pleasing form

So thankful for the happy happenstance

Fate, destiny, kismet or a gracious God who

Even though I wasn’t looking, let me find you
