Happy are those who can still be happy even when their stomach is empty.

You may be short and stout,

but you are definitely not out.

You may struggle every day,

but you always wear that smile all day.

Your mother tend to all your needs.

Your father drives to pay your bills.

They say okay to hunger and thirst,

but never leave you with an empty stomach.

A storm came and left,

bringing nother but tears and pain.

With a flood knee-high to bear,

all your things had gone away.

Mother said it’s okay

for tomorrow the sun will shine again.

You said mother it’s okay.

Someday all these be gone away.

You are full of hope.

That promise your mother will hold on to.

And then you strive for success

to forever say goodbye to poverty.
