Waiting for the postman to see if he has a letter for me
Looking out of my window to see
It’s that time of day
Oohh where is he, what’s the delay?
 
I have an expected delivery coming soon to my door
It’s news I have been waiting for
It’s a coloured letter that you can recognize
I can’t tell you as it would spoil the surprise.
 
 
I might not get my letter today, it could be tomorrow or the day after
As the postman pulls up outside I run out with laughter
Have you got a letter for me
He says, mmm, let me see.
 
 
Yes, yes I do have one for you
You have to sign for it too
After all this time waiting for it to arrive today
Too scared to open it, too scared of what it might say.
 
 
I grabbed it and opened it up
As I read it I couldn’t believe my luck
I have won a holiday prize
For four people, what a lovely surprise.
