“Here you are sir your Bentley awaits”

Says the Chaufer holding the door open

They set off at speed through the gates

closing behind them at five past ten

**************

The other side of town is a little mini,

awaiting a young lady late for work,

in such a hurry she’s wearing her pinney,

she gets in and starts off with a jerk.

**************

Two different motor cars one big one small,

line up together waiting for the lights,

others have joined they begin to crawl,

at the amber they have green in their sights.

**************

They all rush off to the next they are on red

Mini and Bentley join up alongside again

Bentley looks down, and smoothly off he sped

leaving Mini’s engine screaming and feeling the strain

**************

To Bentley’s anger he looks to his side,

to see little Mini pull up and grinning,

“Hello again!” She said with great pride,

this sent Bentley’s wheels spinning.

**************

“Good bye!” He called back in a spec of dust

little Mini wasn’t in his class and was left behind

by Bentley’s V12 engine purring with so much lust

Mini caught up  and said “That was unkind.”

**************

As coincidence would have it, they parked together,

and their owners got out and entered a door,

Both Bentley and Mini left in the grey British weather,

putting aside the difference of the rich and the poor.

**************

The owners return they are hand in hand

Bentley looks, smiles and drives off gently

Mini looks on wishing she could hold the hand

of that handsome big motor car Gently Bentley.

**************

THE END
