Blind Bartimaeus cried out to Jesus as he passed by. When the disciples tried to silence him, he cried even louder. There is an application for all of us here. Each of us needs to be hungary for a spiritual blessing from God. Are we going to allow others to discourage us from our goal or are we going to continue to try to get His attention.

Blind Bartimaeus on the Jericho Road
Begging for funds for food and some clothes.
Then as the Lord should pass that way
In a loud voice he cried out to say,

Jesus, son of David,
Have mercy on me!
I’m a blind beggar
Please, help me see!

“Be quiet, Bartimaeus,” the crowd did say,
“The Lord’s too busy for you today.”
But the beggar was desperate. He would not hide.
So Louder and Louder did he Cry,

Jesus, son of David,
Have mercy on me!
I’m a blind beggar
Please,help me see!

The Lord stopped and heard his cry
Then commanded him to his side.
The Lord inquired his deepest need
The beggar answered and again did plead,

Jesus, son of David,
Have mercy on me!
I’m a blind beggar
Please, help me see!

I was a beggar along life’s road
Jesus passed with crowd in tow.
My need was desperate. My fate was sure.
The Savior’s touch I must secure.

Jesus, son of David,
Have mercy on me!
I’m a blind beggar
Please, help me see!
