A man contemplates his loss in faith.

He realized he was losing touch with reality,
shifting in and out of morality,
the full weight of responsibility fell,
nothing to tell,
as it scattered,
his sanity shattered,
darkness approached,
and he suffered from a fever,
he shared the love of hazardous religion,
believing the word of God would set him free,
but sheer distance from God made him see,
a word is only a word,
even when God whispered to him,
nothing was heard.

    How can you hear what God is saying if religion is between you and God. GOD HAS NO RELIGION.

    A very good poem, it makes sense in this senseless world of religion.

    I have often doubted. Doubt is good. Only the foolish and the fanatic have no doubts.

    A well-worked poem whether I understand all the nuances stated therein or not, whether I agree with all the implications or not.

    I like this ancient poem:

    Psalm 32:7-9 (New International Version)

    7 You are my hiding place;
    you will protect me from trouble
    and surround me with songs of deliverance.
    Selah

    8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
    I will counsel you and watch over you.

    9 Do not be like the horse or the mule,
    which have no understanding
    but must be controlled by bit and bridle
    or they will not come to you.
