A poem.

© Matthew Daniels, 21 October 2011

Due process
It starts with a story
Shoot for neutrality
(We mean that both ways)
Go for the front page
Get the scoop!

Due diligence
Careful, now
Get the facts straight
Or keep the lies narrow
Sharp
To the point

Dew artistry
Characters scintillate
Forget about the plot
Space it out however you want
But keep the leaves wet
Keep us soaked in the shine of it all

Do nothing
It’s dry now
Between the sheets, on our hands
The colour of crows, with age
Is this a news mystery?
Or just another day in the murder.
