This is a rough draft poem about the movies that children watch over and over. These movies are "innocent" and designed for children. However, if you pay careful attention you will see that we are hammering ideals into their heads that are generally in opposition of what we as adults are fighting for.
Hear ye Hear ye
All children henceforth
Must all idolize those who we so say
Those colorful characters
These beautiful Princesses
All complete with perky bosoms
Near nil waists
Childbearing hips
Impeccable faces
These are your models
Young girls
These are the queens
These untouchable
Unattainable
Humanly dreams
Hear Ye Hear Ye
All you boys out there
Look not up to your fathers
But up to a pair
Of extra large biceps
With a rippling effect
Huge broad chests
With hair that goes up to their necks
Arms that can hold a woman with ease and with grace
Chiseled and manly with an angular face
Broading and overbearing
Sometimes quite dumb
Remember it’s your job to save the weaker one
The Princess is weak
She has no gun
She has no biceps
No words on her tongue to keep dragons
or witches
or evil demons at bay
She needs you to come and to save her today
Hear ye Hear Ye
All the children of The North
Look at how brilliantly white we shine
In each movie on each screen
This is what you see
Racism
Sexism
Violence
and Greed
Hear ye Hear ye
Each child and friend
Watch these innocent children’s movies
Again and again
