A poem about craving to hear from someone, but not wanting to admit it.

I may deny it until the day I die

To myself, I cannot lie

I long for a sign from you

I want to be in your thoughts too

Your words don’t affect me like before

But they always leave me wanting more

Though I won’t ever be your wife

At least you’ll never completely leave my life

We’re always too stubborn to admit how much we need someone’s attention
