A poem about Link from the game Zelda and his epic journey to save the princess.

A hero so great
In a world full of hate
How sad he felt
When he couldn’t help.

Houses burning,
A storm of time churning…
Can he make it back in one piece?

He sets out for adventure
Across the dark pasture
All alone
Through the smoke.

Born in the light
Raised in the dark
His name is Courage
And he is the saviour.

He hikes over the mountain
He swims across the ocean
Looking for his heart.

He makes it to the castle
He challenges its guards
So full of spirit,
He takes charge.

He finds a girl
Who dreams of hope.
Though dark clouds cover their fate,
They will escape.

Find the sword
Find the shield
Fight for their freedom
Let their hearts be healed.

Learn the melody
Earn the right
Continue to fight
And find the light.

Seven years pass
Turmoil still reigns
The people’s hope
Continues to fade.

He rises from the dark
Sword in hand
Ready to fight
And recover the light.

The girl has vanished
Without a trace
But he continues searching
And saves her place.

Back in the forest
He finds an old friend
She has not aged
And can still defend.

Back on the mountain
He meets the monster
Happy to be
Brothers forever.

Back by the ocean
He remembers his promise
Since time has passed
And she agrees to forget.

Back in the village
Into the well
Become a child again
No one can tell.

Back to the desert
Still a child
Meet the thief
Wanting to help.

The friend who stayed with you
Through your adventures
Was her all along
Reunions aren’t always so sweet.

The evil is there
The people are scared
He keeps fighting
‘Till all is repaired.

He has come so far
Save the princess
No reason for fear
The light is near.

He wins the battle
The light is free
Hearts fill with joy
His name goes down in history
