Heartbreak

Walking alone in the midst of midnight

gazing towards the glittering stars,

she couldn’t understand its sparkle anymore

for gloom covered her face with nothing but scars.

It was only yesterday she was promised the world

feeling like a princess she had agreed to tie the knot,

least knowing the dark side of him

she gave her delicate heart without a hint.

He was the man of her dreams

blindfolded by love she was mesmerised ,

just to find herself standing all alone in the dark

tears flowing rapidly in her beautiful hazel eyes.

Bygones be bygones but would she be able to forget?

piercing like a sharp needle thoughts poured in,

she had to say goodbye and get on with her life

after all she had saved herself from being  a miserable wife.
