I saw her eyes and realised I was all alone from that day on….
I saw him standing in front of me,
With no smile but vacant eyes.
They were hollow and full of lies,
They paid no attention to my tearful cries.
He by far was in a different land,
Walking with some other grain of sand.
He was by far struck by a car,
While he ferried his lonesome star.
She was shaken as it was her first day of work,
She needed the job else she went beserk.
He had decided to drop her by car,
Although her work was not very far.
She happily got in and took her stuff,
Even chirped and with him laughed.
But he wasnot listening his eyes were vacant,
He was out there but so very distant.
She screamed and yelled and asked him to stop,
She knew for sure the hammer would drop.
But alas!! It was a little too late,
The car but resigned to its dented fate.
She unbuckled her seatbelt and ran out,
Looking at the damage and she began to shout.
Oh My God, Oh My God what have I done,
I have just lost my only son.
Paralysed with fear she looked away,
Wondering what else had gone that day.
He was by far still in the car,
Staring at the road looking so far.
She looked up at God and cradled her son,
Her pride, her joy, her little one.
She had lost her baby that day,
All because he looked too far away.
In the mangled remains of her heart,
She saw a light that never did part.
It was by far the joy from the star,
The one who wasnot sitting in the car.
It was the one who loved him true,
The for whom a tear she drew.
She was by far his guiding light,
She was with her but out of sight.
She held her baby and held him tight,
She wanted to go and set things right.
She had lost her dear little friend,
The one of her legacy to times end.
Slowly he got out of the car,
Still with a look near but far.
He had by far taken away her son,
The cutest, the naughtiest, funniest one.
She stood there numbed and still in shock,
He was by far the little one he’d rock.
The one to whom she sang the lullaby,
The one to whom she would hold and cry.
