The wind blows cold.
The tips of the trees bent and swayed in the breeze,
It was January no clouds in the sky, it had started to freeze,
The golden sun was sinking into a black satin backdrop,
The wind whispered “I’m cold, very cold, I could make your heart stop.”
The wind was after revenge, its frozen fingers caressed your body,
It was angry, it was mad, it wanted to hurt everybody,
It even blew frosty wind across marches that where there,
Hoping to catch somebody, anybody, revenge does not care,
It hammered at doors and rattled glass windows and shutters,
It crawled across rooftops freezing the gutters,
Pipes would cry as they burst and gushed water.
Cracks appeared as it seeped into morter,
So what was the reason for the wind and its rage?
Had something upset it, it must have I’ll wage,
“What has upset me?” The whole human race,”
“I bring you rain, sunshine, you laugh in my face,”
“To grow your crops, and prepare your land,”
” But there is one thing you need to understand,”
“It’s not hard work and it won’t cost you a thing,”
“A thank you now and then, good fortune will bring.
“
