This piece tells of the usages and hidden delights of three tropical fruits.
There are not fruits grown in America
Nor, other temperate regions of the world
Like apples, pears, grapes
Strawberries, blueberries, or blackberries
These are three distinct tropical fruits
Mango, pawpaw, and tamarind
With hidden delights
A mango could be eaten when half ripened
Its skin could be green or yellow
Could be enjoyed when soft and juicy
Or, anyone could make mango chutney and a drink
That is unheard of by most Americans.
The pawpaw is a larger fruit
Also with a green or yellow exterior

Than the biggest mango
That may have a seed the size of a golf ball
When green it could be used
To make chutney
With peppers, onions, spices, and salt
When ripened the pawpaw makes for a delicious fruit
It has many small black seeds
The best of these fruits are sweet
The tamarind is long like beans in a pod
But much thicker with its brown skin
The fruit generally has a sweetish
And sourish taste
Having seeds that are brown
The tamarind is used for making jam
Marmalade or tamarind drink
