Mysterious high stepping deer are one of nature’s delights.

Image via Wikipedia

I strolled sometime ago across the dale
That raises high above the grassy vale
When suddenly there came within my sight
As slick and bright with dew as candle light

As haughty as a roving gypsy band
Or mighty kings who rule the peopled land
A line of brisk high stepping handsome deer
They gazed at me and showed no sign of fear

My heart sprang wide awake and sprouted wings
To join the deer in all their majesty
Now often when at rest I lie abed
The haughty deer come prancing through my head

I see them gliding quietly round the dale
And sliding through the shadows on the vale
They visit with me in my pleasant dreams
And I am richer than a jeweled queen

I didn’t think I would find another as delightful as the “Silver Moon” but you have written another one just as delightful.
