Poem.
Trapped… Lonely inside, thoughts divide, emotion she hides Nobody seems to share or care about why she stares-ahead. They just don’t get it- the reason she hides. They’ll never understand- the tearing inside. Can’t look into their eyes, the ones she left behind. She turns away and cries, sorry for all the lies. She’s just like the rest, another girl, but it’s her world that crashing, falling, snow balling and she can’t handle what they say Opens diary, writes about the day. Another one full of smiles and fun. But she wants to run, get away from the friends she’s come to hate. She needs a break-from this life. Her new friends-mean nothing. Always lying, always bluffing. How did it all come about so fast? The drinking, parties, having a blast? Dropped all her old friends just for the new crowd. Was innocent and shy, now labeled slutty and loud. So many new “friends”, but none of them true and she didn’t know how-hadn’t a clue. How she became popular overnight, without a fight, she had no right. But now she feels lost in a world not her own and just wants to hide in her bedroom alone. She just doesn’t know where to go-from here. So she cleans her face, leaves no trace. No tears, no fears, ready for her peers. Checks the mirror, appears okay so she steps out the door to begin her day.
