This is a poem about wanting someone, but you can’t have them because they are with someone else.

Time is racing by so fast
Still I can’t escape the past
Now I fear my heart, its plight
It keeps me up in tears at night

I try to fight the hurt inside
But I don’t have the time to bide
Praying that the pain will cease
And finally give me some peace

But it won’t relent, you see
It wants to overcome me
All the world his face still haunts
It’s him that she will surely flaunt

I try to erase it in my room
Still I can’t avoid the gloom
I search and can find no aid
As the daylight begins to fade.

Love can give us great pain as well as give us great happiness. The poem captures this nicely.
