I wrote this poem for my husband, Tony, when he bought his first Harley. He wanted me to get a new car, but I had an old, Honda Odyssey van that I loved and could not decided on anything new. So, I told him "Honey, why don’t you buy a Harley? You have really been wanting one and I am happy with my van and I will enjoy riding it with you."
Needless to say, his eyes lit up with excitement and, within three days, he had purchased his Harley! And, we have had many enojoyable rides together on it.
Enjoy and please share with your friends. Thanks!

His Harley

   Written by Rhonda Brand

           for her husband, Tony

His Harley is here.

The day has arrived.

He’ll pick it up

Then go for a ride.

Soft, black leather,

Chrome shines in the sun,

The perfect companion,

When the day is done.

To feel the vibration,

Hear the motor thump

While sitting at the light.

He chose this Harley,

His decision was right.

This is a new freedom

He has wanted so long.

Right here on his Harley

Is where he belongs.
