Written for someone I used to know,

I took all your punches, and all of the blows,
How I lasted so long, nobody knows,
You loved me and left me, just cast me aside,
Bruised my body and broke my pride.

You left me alone with our two little boys,
They only had me to give them love and joy.
You never wanted to see us again,
So we have moved on, they are two beautiful men.

I stand so proud of all I have acheived,
After you broke my heart and all I beleived,
Now I have all their love and it does not cost,
But now I feel sorry for you…at what you have lost.

Judi…what an incredible poem of survival and ultimate victory…kudos to you for being an overcomer…be mighty proud of the masterful job you have done and are continuing to do in the loving care and nurture for your beautiful family…I voted that I like this one, but I can honestly say I have never read anything from you that I have not liked…thanks and take care…

wow, what an amazing poem, full of strength, dignity and – ultimately – a victorious outcome. I had to read to three times. Brilliant stuff Judi.

A wonderful poem of victory after years of being badly treated. I really admire you.

Beautiful poem. I really enjoyed the message that this poem relayed to the reader of what is truely important in life, family and love. Although this should be shared in later years by a middle-aged couples, having to do it on your own makes the accomplishment that much more rewarding. Great Poem. Well done.
