Thoughts on this pivotal night…

All night long I waited
With baited breath
My curiosity was sated

Two feet from the screen I sat
Perched on the edge of my chair like a cat

The tears ran freely as I heard his speech
I hope above all hope that his words are true
For if they are not, I do not know what this country will do

Agree or disagree the point remains the same
Like it or not we just saw history change

Time will tell if it is good or bad
No longer can we live on the policies we had

People fear change, this much we know
Can you deal with more of the same
As our fear and hunger grow?

Soon we will see just what this is meant to be
Is there finally a cure to our collective misery?

I have no answers, I have only hope
All I know, is that it is harder and harder to cope

Open your mind, and see what is beyond
Something has to give
If we all want to live……

I cried as well, in fact I\’m feeling so much pride and so hopeful, that even today I\’m still a bit misty eyed.

    Blessings!
