The difference in Hollywood from the glory days, to now.

                                              “Hollywood Now”

White snow is falling on old “Tinsel Town”

it’s falling and flying, not reaching the ground

the plight of “The Business”, we’re grimly aware

that it looks like St. Nicholas no longer is there

Free basing fathers, ye demons of blight

ride through the jungle, fly by the night

no venturesome creature treads merrily there

soon posted signs read, “Trespassers beware!”

Donner’s been blitzened, his nose all a glow

with sparks from a fire that never will show

what happened to Mickey, Donald and Champ,

are these lovely fellows replaced by the tramp?

Street urchins gather, no ocean, no boat

to carry you safely away from this goat

of Judas that leads you to fall where you lie

with sores on your ankles, you’re left here to die

“This the night of much sorrow, the strip is well walked

by ladies of fashion, with pimps they are stalked

Hollywood heyday, you’ve seen all the best

better you stop now, it’s time for a rest

The more things change, the more they remain the same…the facade of glamour may change, but underneath I think it is still the same. Great write.

I liked this poem, it had a good rhythm and I could follow the story very well, but please don’t let Santa and his reindeers go!

Great Poem Mo, yes Hollywood has changed, more like Sodom and Gomora (?spelling?) nowadays.

It sure has changed and the quality of acting and a lot of other things too, especially the black and white lighting that used to be extraordinary, but that was way back then and this is now. I just liked the older days in Hollywood-shows my age. Thanks Val!
    Sending love!

Thanks for your words of encouragement, Jimbob.
I should be uploading 2 more songs this weekend-if you care to start all over again with this!
