It has been said that "poetry is what’s lost in translation", yet I couldn’t resist translating -or rather fully rewriting- this one. I had written it for a partner of mine some time ago in greek and I wanted to share it with non-greek speakers too.
Those eyes of honey and green
let me dip in and stay within
they look like drops of honey on grass
honeygreen blossoms on my lass
green blossoms wet with honey
sweeter even than your lips
my senses are running wild
when you give me your kiss
like liquid fire is your kiss
your breath’s a hot flame
when we unite it’s a bliss
I forget even my own name

Forgive me for not being able to find honeygreen blossoms
