There are moments
When character is questioned
When moments of hestitation
Make heavy foot and weary
Heart set sail adrift

The hearts that ponder
And turn deep into
The mist of night
Falling deeper
With hearts and hands
Wide open

Born amongst
Sand and stone
Between beggars
And austere thrones

The gardens spread
In merry foliage
As gates circle ’round
Protecting the heart
From unwarranted
Strangers

Guards and shields
Wizened thought
And quiet nights
Kneeling in preparation
In want of trust
And hope, and life
And love

In trepidation
Of unknown
Nameless bends
Mystery shrouds
And colors momentary
Doubt and wonders

Fingers lace and mix
With the complexion
Of wine and savory tastes
Of life and loss
And the limitless intrigue
That miraculously awaits!
