A place for the homeless to live until they can find somewhere esle.
I am homeless and live temporary in a hostel
We have our own rooms but with no locks on
Sometimes I find it quite hostile
Every evening we all meet up in the lounge so we can get to know everyone.
It’s like living in a big house where we live in our own bedroom
Sharing the kitchen, bathroom, toilet and everywhere else around here
I hope I can get out of here soon
Some live here away from their husbands living in fear.
I am lucky I suppose as I do have a roof over my head
Most of us have no choice, as we are pretty poor
Not like some, at least I am getting fed
Some are not so lucky out in the cold sleeping rough on the dirty pavement floor.
Some that come in here are quite loud and looking ruff
Through these paper thin walls you can hear them fighting or love making and the rest
People come into your room taking your stuff
You try and do what’s right, but it’s hard to do what’s best.
People in here are buying and using drugs
You are only a number no-one wants to hear your voice
Music played loud you need ear plugs
I can’t bear to be in here but I have no choice.
