The describes all the feelings you go through when first taking a trip in a hot air balloon.

The day dawns.
Brilliant sunshine glistens on the leaves of trees,
Lighting the rooftops and sparkling on water.
The great balloon rises to the sound of gas
Hissing noisily into its colourful body.
Soon I would be rising beneath its shadow.
My stomach tightens with anticipation.
My legs feel weak.
I am quite afraid.
As the gigantic mass of colour lifts itself
Gently in the still warm air
And the noise and bustle of streets beneath
Fade into silence,
The fear within me disappears.
I feel so free, so alive.
I feel a joy building inside me,
A great feeling of peace.
The balloon drifts gently across a changing landscape,
The houses like match boxes,
Traffic and people moving like ants
On the earth below.
The air so fresh and cool.
How I wish I could stay here for ever.

Stunning prose that brought this piece to life … and made it an adventure-ride for all ~ loved this Christine :-)
