Can a man survive living in a house full of divas? It depends on his attitude. This is a poem with a little bit of humor about a man who learns to cope with the stress of being outnumbered in his own house by female family members, divas.

This is a fun little poem dreamed up one day while observing and sympathizing with my husband’s situation. He lives in a house full of women– a little preteen woman, a teen woman, a young adult woman and a middle aged woman. Unlike the women in this poem, not all the females in my house are divas, but a couple of them display a few diva traits. These are the ones that inspired this poem. So, I let my mind have a little fun in imagining a man dealing with a house full of self-centered divas.

House Full of Divas

Now this is the tale of a man

Who through some quirk of fate was found

With his house full of divas

Yes there were females all around

You’d think this man should be envied

By men in every nation

You’d think all men would love to be

In just such a situation

For in a house full of divas

A man can behold their beauty

But lovely views can be pricey

And paying was this man’s duty

The man’s dear wife was head diva

Also in his house was her mom

And grandma’s teaching diva skills

To new generations to come

She plays dress up with the toddler

She shops with the teens at the mall

She buys high fashioned clothes and shoes

And lotions and potions and all

Makeup and lipstick for the face

And concoctions for smooth, soft skin

Jewels and pearls, silver and gold

So much spending–where would it end?

The man’s wallet was getting thin

As he paid for each diva-whim

He worked and worked so they’d look good

Now would they be the death of him?

But when his stress got out of hand

The man’s doctor told him what to do

For smiling divas and strong hearts

Just pay up and enjoy the view.

Nicely done. I live with the house-full and have at times thought I would lose my sanity. People always advised that I should build an extra nice shed, but I thought I knew better.

Even after the cash is gone, you would think all divas would be content, but not so!

Lol. Lovely poem. Yes…. his wallet would get thin but well worth it cos, he will sure reap the rewards, as the Diva’s blossom into successful ladies.

    Happy Xmas.

My two daughters were a delight and thankfully, not divas. But there are plenty of them in my extended family.
